Summer Knitting Pattern

Designer and Tech Editor Faye Perriam-Reed is wearing sunglasses and modelling her pale pink Tywardreath lace summer knitted top. She stands outdoors in front of green foliage, looking to the left.

A person wears a short-sleeved, light purple knit sweater with an intricate, lacy leaf pattern on the front, standing outdoors against a dark green, leafy background.
A woman with short, ombre hair wears turquoise sunglasses, a light purple knitted top, and a green feather earring, looking over her shoulder against a blurred green leafy background.
A person with short, light hair stands outdoors, hand on hip, wearing a light pink knit top with intricate lace patterns. Only the upper body is visible, with a green leafy background.
A person with shoulder-length hair stands outdoors on grass, facing away. They wear a short-sleeved, light brown knit top and black pants. Trees and greenery are visible in the background.

Tywardreath is a great Summer knitting pattern and can be worn over a vest or bra.

Elements DK is a breathable yarn from West Yorkshire Spinners, which is a blend of Lyocell and wool and should be both absorbent and temperature regulating. Paired with the airy lace panel on the front of the garment and the extra ease around the bust, this Summer knit tee is rather cool and breezy.

The bottom up t-shirt has a bust size of 89-171cm (35-67.25in), designed to be worked with 12-19cm (41/2-71/2in) of positive ease. A lace panel is featured on the front. The top is worked in the round to the armhole divide, beginning with a narrower waist which widens towards the bust. After the armholes the piece is worked flat over the back and front to the shoulders, which are shaped very slowly to give a relaxed feel.

Shaping is worked in the lace pattern at the same time as the neck shaping. Across the size range the armhole shaping is slightly different in order for the armhole bands to finish in a similar place on all sizes.
